The year is 2026. The world situation remains askew. So, business as usual. General failure progresses at a leisurely pace. Tech billionaires are having luxurious bunkers built, while ordinary people can at best retreat to the rehearsal room around the corner. From there, perhaps a counterattack can begin with venomous noise.

Abrichten was founded in late autumn 2014 – even then with the rough, but quite plausible intention of combining American noise rock with German lyrics. Since then, there have been some personnel changes in the band's structure, which our executor will gladly explain to you.

›Aufheben‹ is now the fourth release and appears as an artfully designed tape on It’s Eleven Records. Musically, our usual mix can be found here, with which we condemn ourselves to persistent unsuccessfulness – i.e., partly heavy, partly driving songs with expressive vocals. This is unfriendly music, very carefully crafted by friendly people, so that it ultimately sounds somehow crooked and somehow engaging. Recorded and mixed, as before, at Studio Tutti in Leipzig-Holzhausen. (We sincerely thank Alexander Günther for the balanced sound.)

The lyrics are in German, mostly somehow pissed off, yet (hopefully) sometimes also repulsive or quirky-eccentric. A certain tendency towards provocation is certainly present, but it should, of course, not serve as an excuse for bad behavior. ›No whining, no moralizing‹ would probably be the appropriate rule of thumb – both are far too often practiced in today's music world, with usually rather dull results.
